A Recall on 7,500 Lbs. of Cheese in 5 States Just Received a Critical Update It was late summer 2025 when we first learned that 5,400 pounds of six types of cheese had been recalled from Walmart stores and some independent retailers. Newly published information today from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) adds more than 2,000 pounds to that quantity, and three more cheese varieties for a reported total of nine. Middlefield Original Cheese Cooperative was the Amish-operated dairy facility in Ohio’s Geauga County that first recalled cheese. After their August recall announcement, in September they subsequently expanded the recall across three more states for Listeria concerns.
