Recall of Good & Gather Frozen Products from Target Stores

Frozen meals have become a popular choice for busy individuals looking to save time on meal prep. While convenient, it is important to prioritize healthy options when selecting frozen products. Nutrition experts suggest opting for meals with fewer ingredients and lower sodium content to make better choices for your health.

However, if you recently purchased frozen products from Target stores, you may need to take a closer look at your freezer. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced the voluntary recall of over 57,000 units of Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend sold in Target stores across all 50 states.

Produced by One Frozen, LLC, the recalled product was found to contain undisclosed shrimp, posing a potential risk to individuals with shellfish allergies. Following three consumer complaints regarding the possible presence of shrimp, the recall was initiated to prevent any potential health hazards.

The affected product, packaged in 12-ounce bags, first became available on April 17, 2025, with a "Best By" date of August 24, 2026. Consumers can identify the recalled product by checking the UPC code and lot codes located on the back of the packaging under the nutrition label.

  • UPC: 085239931356
  • Lot Codes: L5055-1, L5055-2, L5055-3, L5055-4, L5055-5, L5055-6

While no illnesses have been reported so far, the FDA warns that individuals with shellfish allergies could experience severe or life-threatening reactions if they consume the product. It is essential for anyone who purchased the recalled product to refrain from consuming it and contact Target Guest Relations at (800) 444-0680 for a full refund.

Shellfish allergies are common, affecting millions of individuals in the United States. Allergic reactions can be unpredictable, even with small amounts of shellfish, highlighting the importance of being cautious when it comes to food allergens.
