"High Noon Vodka Seltzer Recall: Alert for Mislabeling Issue"
A Popular Canned Beverage Has Been Recalled in 8 States, Says the FDA
White Claw and Truly were some of the first brands to gain popularity when ready-to-drink canned cocktails emerged as a prominent product category over a decade ago. Since then, numerous brands have joined the market to compete with their own formulations. While most health professionals would caution against the consumption of alcohol for health reasons, opting for options with lower alcohol content and real water without "natural flavors" can be a more conscious choice.
Despite being recognized as the highest-selling spirit by volume for a couple of summers, ahead of even a Tito's product in 2023, High Noon, a popular brand, has been at the center of a recent recall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a notice indicating that High Noon has been recalled due to a labeling error that was first brought to light by Wegmans.
Wegmans initially reported that some packs labeled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition actually contained High Noon vodka seltzer alcohol. The FDA further clarified that consumption of these mislabeled cans could lead to unintentional alcohol ingestion, posing a risk to pregnant individuals, minors, drivers, and others.
High Noon's "Real Vodka + Real Juice Hard Seltzers" have been touted for their quality ingredients, including real vodka, real juice, and no added sugar. On the other hand, Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink lists ingredients such as taurine, caffeine, green tea extract, and synthetic B vitamins, raising concerns about potential health effects.
The FDA specified that the labeling error only affected specific lots of products. These products were distributed to retailers and distributors in several states, including Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin starting from July 21, 2025.
High Noon is owned by E. & J. Gallo's Spirit of Gallo, while Celsius is owned by PepsiCo. It is possible that the two beverages are produced or packaged at the same facility.
